Tumblr refugee looking to recreate a place to inspire and empower women to consciously step into their leadership, power, and Dominance. (34m/bi/sub/USA+Australia)
Human beings have a default pattern of behavior that causes us to live in a world of binary states, otherwise known as duality.
Heaven vs hell, good vs bad, right vs wrong. We choose a position on anything, and immediately look for an opposite state to compare it against. Consider it our way of evaluating anything to determine a course of action.
It’s not always clean cut however, as choosing the concept of love, for instance, will be compared to hate by one person, while compared as unconditional vs conditional to another. Respect, happiness, success - all just more concepts that are placed on end of a spectrum, while the other end varies greatly from person to person.
In any binary situation, life is a war between two states; a struggle. It’s arguably the source of human suffering (and potential); The empty space between where we are, and where we think we should be.
There’s nothing wrong with duality per se, except when we are unable to see it, and we take a righteous position on something (and thus make anything else, ‘wrong’). Duality in itself is a choice, and a powerful choice at that. When we are blind to it, it runs our life; we fail to recognize that we aren’t as free and powerful as we think ourselves to be.
The key, is being able to identify when we are creating a duality, and being able to choose to transcend it, or stay within it. The choice in itself is freeing, for we can live consciously.
One of the dualities that exists, is leaders versus followers. Dominants vs submissive. Masters/Mistresses vs slaves. Top vs bottom. Owner vs pet.
The choice to impose and maintain a fixed binary structure, each with a set of characteristics, rules, conditions, and expectations. One need not look far in the community to find staunch advocates for singular definitions of these terms.
In fact, most debates on Fetlife/forums/at meet ups etc, are over two or more people trying to convince others that the duality in their head, is the correct one.
This approach is a limited style of leadership, otherwise known as management. About maintaining compliance to a fixed position, rather than the willingness and courage to look beyond dogma, tradition, beliefs, and habits. It’s limiting, because are unable and unwilling to let go of our duality.
We understand the concept that when all the traffic is cleared on the roads, and all the lights are green, we are free to drive without impedance. That we stop thinking about traffic, in the absence of traffic. Our minds are free to think, talk, imagine, create, because noise has been removed.
Leadership (and any state of being) is much the same. Leadership isn’t a thing we achieve, or earn, or win, despite the common social understanding.
Stating what we think we are or want to be the leader, doesn’t make it real, and almost never occurs to others as real and genuine, no matter how much we stamp our feet and demand recognition.
Leaders aren’t always (in fact, rarely) the CEO or the manager or the loudest/bravest/most experienced person in the room. We call them leaders, but yet we all know in our instincts about who occurs to us a leader, versus someone just demanding that we follow them.
The leader is the person who people trust because they are extraordinary authentic, at unquestionable peace with themselves, and thus able to create and hold space for others. After all, if one’s own bullshit is hogging all the space, there’s simply no room for others to exist and contribute to.
Leadership emerges when the noise, ego, and the pursuit of personal significance is removed. When we move beyond the internal binary war of feeling powerful/powerless, effective/ineffective, strong/weak. Those who truly lead (and not just manage), are at peace with themselves.
When a woman chooses and commits to becoming free from the constraint of the war inside herself, only then, can a Goddess emerge. No man can do this for her, nor can another woman.
Goddess are goddesses, because they have transcended the limitations of man; power and control doesn’t occur any longer as something to have/not have.
There’s nothing a Goddess ‘does’ or ‘needs to do’, other than be someone whose self-esteem and power is not built on a foundation of avoiding the feeling of being powerless/worthless.
Being a Goddess isn’t a process or set of actions to take. Her Goddess state will just emerge when she chooses to move beyond living, experiencing, and evaluating life as unconscious duality.
Leadership emerges when we remove the constraint of its binary state. Happiness emerges when we remove the constraint of its binary state. Love occurs emerges we remove the constraint of its binary state. Domination emerges when we remove the constraint of its binary state. Ownership emerges when we remove the constraint of its binary state. A Goddess emerges when we remove the constraint of its binary state.
